Perplexity Puts Its Computer Agent Inside Slack

Perplexity launched Computer for Enterprise as a native Slack integration, letting teams tag @computer in any channel or DM to run research, multi-step tasks, and workflows without leaving the conversation. Context carries across sessions and between Slack and the web interface, so a task started in a channel thread can be picked up later with full history intact. Tasks run in the cloud after the browser closes. The product connects to 400+ app integrations and was tested internally as a Slack bot before the public launch at Perplexity's Ask 2026 conference. Anthropic's Claude is already in Slack, and Microsoft Copilot lives in Teams - the fight to become the default AI agent inside enterprise chat is now a three-way race where distribution through existing communication tools matters more than standalone product quality.
