What Selling to AI Agents Means for GTM
YC alum Matt Williamson noticed something concrete: when building with Claude Code and Replit, AI tools selected Resend, Firecrawl, and Stripe automatically - no human comparison, no research phase, just default picks based on documentation quality and API accessibility. His framework for agent-first go-to-market comes down to four things: callable interfaces (if there's no API or MCP, you don't exist to the agent), documentation as distribution, structured reputation signals like GitHub stars and changelogs, and embedding into interface layers where agents default to single providers. The argument that products designed developer-first have a structural advantage in agent commerce is landing harder as more teams build through AI coding tools that make vendor decisions on their behalf.
