Perplexity Launches a Health Agent in the US

Perplexity added a dedicated Health section to its app, letting US users connect health data providers, input medical information, and interact with specialized AI agents for nutrition and sleep. The product includes customizable dashboards with data visualization and suggested prompts - closer to a personal health hub than a chatbot. This follows the same playbook as Perplexity Finance, which connected brokerage accounts via Plaid to deliver personalized financial analysis. Perplexity is methodically expanding from search into vertical agents — finance, then health - each built around the same pattern of connecting real user data to AI reasoning. Google Health and Apple HealthKit have owned the health data aggregation layer for years, but neither has paired it with an AI agent that can actually reason over the data in conversational form.
