Salesforce Adds 30 AI Skills to Slackbot
Marc Benioff unveiled a major Slackbot overhaul with 30+ AI-driven skills -reusable task automation, meeting transcription and summarization, desktop activity monitoring with adjustable permissions, and the ability to pull data from connected apps and databases to build actionable plans on demand. Slackbot now operates as an MCP client connecting directly to Agentforce and external AI agents, which turns it into an orchestration layer rather than just a chat assistant. The desktop monitoring capability is bold - Slackbot can watch calendar and communication tools and suggest follow-ups proactively. Slack, Microsoft Teams, and now Perplexity are all racing to become the default enterprise surface where AI agents live and execute work, and the winner will likely be whoever makes the agent interactions feel least disruptive to existing team habits.
